The Marathon Plus (28-622) is the only tire in the world that can claim to be flat-less. This is thanks to its unique, patented anti-puncture layer—five millimeters thick and made of special, highly elastic rubber. Even thumbtacks can't puncture this tire. But the new Marathon Plus isn't just flat-less. It now rolls lighter than ever and, thanks to its anti-aging sidewalls, is incredibly durable. It's also suitable and certified for fast e-bikes.

Rolls lighter

The unique puncture protection layer makes the Marathon Plus slightly heavier. Although the Marathon Plus weighs a bit more, its rolling characteristics are excellent. The laboratory test objectively confirms what one can already experience subjectively on the bike: the new Marathon Plus rolls significantly lighter than other tires with a comparably thick puncture protection layer.

Longer lifespan: The original Marathon Plus is now protected against premature aging due to weather influences or overloading due to low air pressure. We have developed a special anti-aging technology. This makes the sidewalls of the Marathon Plus extremely resistant to unsightly cracks. Furthermore, the Marathon lives up to its name with a new rubber compound: the Endurance compound rolls for thousands of kilometers with excellent handling and low wear. Conserves natural resources: The puncture protection layer of the Marathon Plus is extremely elastic. This is doubly important – for total protection and for the dynamic rolling motion. This high elasticity can only be achieved with a special rubber that contains a large amount of natural rubber. Natural rubber is a valuable resource. Recycling is only available in very expensive ways. Despite this, we choose to do so. The puncture protection layer of the new Marathon Plus is therefore made partly of recycled natural rubber.

Excellent for e-bikes: E-bikes are a hot topic. Crucially, they're fitted with exceptionally stable, puncture-resistant tires that are durable. The Marathon Plus naturally meets all the requirements for e-bike tires. This applies not only to e-bikes with pedal assistance up to 25 km/h. The new Marathon Plus is certified in all common sizes with the European quality mark for e-bikes up to 50 km/h. The following sizes have the ECE-R75 mark: 47-406, 47-599, 37-622, 40-622, and 47-622.
