E-bikes are heavier compared to non-electric bikes. They also travel much faster. Therefore, specially designed disc brake pads are required for e-bikes to ensure good and consistent braking performance.

These special Union e-bike disc brake pads feature a compound with a high percentage of KEVLAR fibers. A specially developed curing process creates a better and stronger bond between the compound. This ensures that during hard braking (when the brake lever is firmly squeezed by hand), significantly more braking force is released (at the brake rotor) than with standard organic disc brake pads.

Further advantages include faster heat dissipation and slower reduction in braking performance (fading).
